Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 in China back in December, but the company is finally ready to bring the world’s first Snapdragon 888 phone to Europe.
With rumours that both a Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Lite are in the works, there’s even a chance that Xiaomi is about to unveil a new phone or two alongside the regular Mi 11, but at the very least we know we’re about to find out when the new flagship will go on sale in Europe – and how much it’ll cost when it does.
Here’s everything we know about when the Mi 11 launches in the West, and what to expect when it does.
When is the Mi 11 global launch?
Xiaomi announced the launch event on Twitter, confirming that it’ll take place today at 12pm GMT / 1pm CET:

What to expect from the global Mi 11 launch
Well, first up, we know we’re about to see the western launch of the Mi 11. Since it’s already available in China we know a lot about the phone – you can read our full rundown of the Mi 11 specs, but here are the highlights:
- 6.81in, 2K, 120Hz AMOLED display
- Snapdragon 888
- 108Mp main camera
- 4600mAh battery
- 55W wired & 50W wireless charging
When it launched in China in late December, the Mi 11 was the world’s first Snapdragon 888 phone. That chip has since arrived in the US inside the Samsung Galaxy S21 range, but since European S21s use Samsung’s own Exynos 2100 instead, the Mi 11 is still likely to be the first Snapdragon 888 phone in the UK and Europe.
Most importantly, we’re expecting to find out the Mi 11’s UK and European pricing at the launch. In China, the Mi 11 costs the exact same as the Mi 10. Assuming that holds here too, expect the new phone to start from £799/€799, which should keep it competitive with the £769/€849 Galaxy S21.
Will there be a Mi 11 Lite or Mi 11 Pro?
Rumours are rife that Xiaomi is working on both Lite and Pro variants of the Mi 11, with a few spec leaks already.
It would be no surprise to see Xiaomi launch cheaper and more expensive Mi 11 variants, as that matches the Mi 10 line. However, we would expect them to follow the Mi 11 and launch in China first, so we’re not expecting either to be unveiled at the upcoming global event, which is more likely to focus exclusively on pricing and release details for the standard Mi 11.
